This can also be read as: goddamn, I need a stable Linux computer.

I used AIM as a kid, now I use Pidgin.
I used IE as a kid, FF as a teen, and now Chrome.
I used to download things from Kazaa. Then Bittorrent. Now DC (sort of).
I used Windows XP as a kid. Then I thought I was awesome and tried a ton of different flavors of Linux. Now I just use what's easy, which is Vista and/or Ubuntu.
I had a LiveJournal. Now I have a blog. This somehow makes it slightly better I think?
So I figured I'd try to post real quick before I went to bed. I'm tired. I tried to do work and didn't do a great job at it. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more fun work to do than that. Sarah Palin got pwned today I guess, which makes me happy. Of course, I'm not fucking voting, and I wouldn't be voting for her or her party anyways, so I guess it doesn't matter. My internets have been fail and I'm thinking about tunneling off-campus a bit more often. I want this week to be over because this week has certain failures to it that next week will almost certainly not have. I miss living on the other side of campus. I like the mix of teachers treating me like an idiot and teachers treating me like I am way smarter than I actually am this semester. I want my laptop to arrive. I hope the RAM arrives first.
I'm insulted that this book I'm reading for class says that for a community to truly thrive, people's individuality needs to be freely given up for the good of the community. I wish I didn't ever need to sleep. I wouldn't mind plugging into the wall every time I sat down somewhere for a while. I do slightly enjoy eating though, and sleeping can be fun. But I mean, sometimes it's time to shut down the computer, and sometimes it's time to plug it into the damn wall and keep working. I wish I could just plug into the wall right now.
Note that I left the "sleep" mode of most modern computers out of that analogy.
Today, I bought a bunch of arts and crafts things to do a project. I learned multiple things:
- Computer Science and Engineering is a fucking expensive major. I'm switching to art.
- If you're going to buy a scalpel / hobby knife, spend the extra fucking dollar.
- Whatever price you think you're going to have to pay is completely wrong.
When I informed the person that the price on the hook was more than the price he charged me, he laughed and said "Heh, well we're not going to make you pay more now". I serious'd and said "I wasn't going to if you asked". And then he serious'd.
Having a link to this blog in my bookmarks makes me want to write in it pretty much every time I'm bored and reading random boring sites.

Initial Post
I decided to start a blog for multiple reasons. First, I've wanted to do this for a very long time, but never got around to it. Second, I know other people who have been doing the same thing lately, and I love nothing more than sucking the creativity out of other people for my own benefit. I may not mention this to anyone for a while, but it's not like it's hidden, so who knows. Since I tend to oscillate between sharing private pieces of my life with random strangers and telling out-and-out lies in real life on a regular basis, this will probably be a decent mix of both, or neither. Still, I'm going to attempt to stay away from depressed-yet-intelligent rambling about how horrible the universe is, and hopefully every couple of months I'll go back and read some posts and decide to tone down the pretension a little bit.
In short: DISREGARD THAT, I WRITE BLOGS.
